W hile Shiakh was working on saving Aesir, Tened allowed herself to look at her guardian, the Hero of the Dragon and the Ruby. For a split second, she saw something different in this huge warrior wearing rags. It was almost like inside this vortex of Wind and steel that he had become was a tall, young man wearing clothes that looked like the sky, with clouds and stars glittering on them.

“Amazing…” The Princess whispered. Other than her father, she had never seen anyone’s Technique or Style be worthy of that word, and…

“I’m done.” Shiakh leaned on his staff, breathing hard.

Aesir was now completely encased in stone, turning her into a roughly-sculpted granite statue.

“This will last half an hour.” Shiakh’Min swallowed a few pills, then finally managed to straighten up and even out his breathing. “If you don’t start the treatment by then, Aesir will go on her final flight through the High Heavens.”

“Thank you, Shiakh,” the Princess said, bowing her head slightly.

Sin and Tash exchanged glances. What a cunning wizard… He’d not only tried to get rid of Hadjar, but had also been able to turn everything around in his favor and win the trust of the Princess.

“Okay.” Tash stood up and ran her hand over the surface of her ice blade. “First, we’ll find a safe place for the Princess and Aesir to hide in, and then we’ll go over what has just happened.”

“That’s a good idea, sister.”

The dragoness walked over to stand behind Hadjar, “When I give the word, step aside.”
